The Missional Brick Wall

Most pastors and ministry leaders don’t lack a heart for the lost. Many merely lack a roadmap for the reality on the ground. You know you’re supposed to engage your neighborhood, but the old playbooks are leaving you stranded in moments like these:

• The Blank Screen: It’s late Thursday night, and you're paralyzed staring at a blinking cursor completely unsure how to translate your theology into a living room conversation that actual neighbors want to have.
• The Leaky Bucket: You open your attendance spreadsheet only to find that three unchurched visiting families dropped off entirely...again. Your people are successfully inviting them, but an invisible "insider tax" is driving them out the back door.
• The Budget Defense: You’re sitting in a windowless room defending your outreach budget, watching leadership prioritize internal church maintenance over local neighborhood mission.
• The Parking Lot Apology: You stand in the parking lot after taking a creative missional risk, forced to apologize to a defensive board because your event didn’t instantly yield traditional institutional metrics.

It shouldn't feel like you're fighting your own church to reach your city.
