He is a new creation.”
2 Corinthians 5:17
I remember first imagining this verse. I couldn’t believe the implications of this as an artist.
If you have been touched by God’s grace and then respond in some way (whether out of joy, lament, curiosity, etc.), in a certain sense, I believe you are making new creation art.
New creation art is the art which reaches into the future, pulling in the values from another realm, the world of God’s kingdom.
This makes our artwork other worldly.
It’s not about the work itself, but about who makes it, why they make it, and how they go about making it.
